The
first PEARL peer group workshop for the Group D Cultural,
Heritage and Religious cities was held at Hotel Regency,
Agra on Wednesday, 28th November 2007. All identified
Group D cities were invited for the occasion. The workshop
was attended by the Senior Officials of the Group D cities
as well as the representatives from JnNURM Technical cell
and local organizations from Agra.
Summary of
Discussions: Different
presentations and round table discussions, deliberated the
following issues during the workshop:
- PPP toolkit of JnNURM
to conserve small monuments
- CPF can be modified
with focus to heritage
- Bridge the gap and
dialogue between the government and the
community
- Self help groups need
to be encouraged 7
- Special funds under
Pearl/JnNURM for community development
- Partnership between
religious trust, planners and civil society
